You’re standing on a mountain summit, the wind gently blowing through your wedding dress, and apart from your vows and the sounds of nature, there’s nothing to be heard. No rigid etiquette, no time pressure from a 200-person wedding party – just the two of you and your pure, unfiltered love. An elopement is the essence of what getting married is truly about. But while the ceremony intentionally stays small-scale, the desire for lasting memories is often all the greater. After all, you want to share these magical moments later with all those who couldn’t be there.

This is exactly where the mobile photo booth bridges the gap. You might initially think of clunky machines – but we at Fotichaschte.ch have revolutionised the photo booth world for modern events. Our systems are flexible and stylish, but they do require a minimum of planning to work “off-grid” as well. In this guide, you’ll learn how to enrich your elopement with the Fotichaschte and why technology is no longer an obstacle to romance.

What Is an Elopement? Why Is It So Special?

An elopement is far more than just “running away.” It’s the conscious decision in favour of intimacy and against the organisational madness of a large-scale wedding. Couples who choose an elopement are seeking adventure – whether on a secluded bay, in a deep pine forest, or on an exposed rocky outcrop. In this setting, every moment counts double because it isn’t interrupted by a rigid programme.

The challenge: Who captures the small, unguarded moments? A professional photographer is worth their weight in gold for the big scenes, but for the completely carefree, silly, or deeply emotional selfies in between, a photo booth offers the perfect safe space. When no stranger’s eye is looking through the lens, photos are created that reflect your personality 100%. It’s your private stage, no matter where in Switzerland you happen to be.

Mobile Photo Booth – The Perfect Solution for Flexible Wedding Photos

What actually makes a Fotichaschte “mobile”? We’ve designed our systems so they work at almost any unconventional wedding location. But note: “Mobile” means maximum flexibility in setup for us, not necessarily “backpack-friendly.”

Our boxes are robust and protect the high-quality technology inside, which also makes them somewhat bulky. A 500-metre march along a narrow hiking trail in wedding attire? We strongly advise against it! The Fotichaschte absolutely requires a car for transport to the final spot.

For elopements, however, our Digital Photo Booth is a real game-changer. It’s based on high-quality tablet technology, is extremely lightweight, and ready to go in no time. But our packages with DSLR cameras are also designed for compact transport, as long as car access to the location is guaranteed.

Digital, Print, or Both? The Power Supply Dilemma Solved

At an elopement or micro wedding, a logistical question often arises: How do the photos get to the guests?

  • The digital world: Our Fotichaschte can instantly generate a QR code on request. This is perfect for sending a “We did it!” photo while your ceremony is still going on. Here, a portable power station is theoretically possible as a power source. My expert tip: Dim the ring light to about 50% to save power. Still, a mains socket is always the safer choice if you want to keep shooting late into the night.
  • The tactile experience: A printed photo is an anchor in reality. But be careful: Anyone wanting to print (Light or Premium package) absolutely needs a dedicated 230V power phase. The PC, the flash, and especially the printer draw so much power that a standard power station simply can’t keep up. So if you’re planning prints on the beach or in the forest, make sure there’s a real power line nearby.

Technical Tips & Weather Protection: Making Sure Nothing Goes Wrong

So your adventure doesn’t fall apart because of a melted ink ribbon, there are a few professional rules to follow. As Switzerland’s largest photo booth provider, we know: Nature is unpredictable.
Beware of temperature extremes: Our Fotichaschte are robust, but technology doesn’t like it freezing cold or boiling hot. This applies especially when storing equipment in a car! A scorching hot boot in summer can damage the printer’s ink ribbon. If that happens, the printer unfortunately stays silent at the event. So make sure the equipment is always kept in a temperature-controlled place.
Light & shadow: In the open air, lighting changes quickly. Our cameras are pre-configured, but a quick test run on-site is worth its weight in gold. Stress-free logistics: You can conveniently pick up the Fotichaschte from us in Zurich (as early as Thursday lunchtime!) or have it delivered by post. The return deadline of Tuesday lunchtime gives you all the freedom in the world.

Creative Ideas: Audio Messages for Eternity

An absolute trend for intimate weddings is our Audio Guest Book. It’s the perfect complement to the Fotichaschte. Imagine recording your wedding vows or your first thoughts right after the ceremony on a retro telephone.

Good news for outdoor fans: The Audio Guest Book is far less power-hungry than a photo booth with a printer. Since the telephone requires little power, you can easily use a power station with sufficient capacity here. This way, you can capture your voices and emotions even in the most remote locations – a memory that will still give you goosebumps when you listen to it 20 years from now.
